Half cloth binding with marbled plates: paper gusset almost completely detached from the upper portion of the spine; creased headphones; serious abrasions to the plates, edges and corners; in particular lack of the lower corner of the front plate. Written in pencil on the front pastedown. The binding appears rather loose, particularly between the front pastedown and the first endpaper. Burnished cuts with dust spots. Papers in general well preserved: rare foxings and rare pencil marks in the text. Ownership signature on the buttonhole. We point out some imperfections: brown spots similar to splashes from the buttonhole on page 10; written in pencil on the lower margin in 6.8 (page 96) and 7.6 (page 108); fold at the top corners of the cards from 23.5 to 23.8. Written in pen on the penultimate white paper. Attached map of the line from Rome to Naples, folded and placed after the index. Text in Italian language.
