Description

Extremely rare pamphlet by the American poet and essayist Ezra Pound, published in Venice on 23 March 1944 at the Edizioni Popolari di Venezia, linked to the fascist government of the Republic of Salò. It attacks Roosevelt's policy and the control by the so-called "usurocracy" of the world economy, the ultimate cause of all wars. On the title page: “The facts listed in this pamphlet are: 1) The suppression of paper money in Pennsylvania, D. 1750; 2) American Revolution (1776) betrayed several times; 3) The fall of the United States under the control of the international usurocracy, during the Civil War, from about 1863. These facts must be considered in relation to the present war (1939 to today)". At the end of the war Pound, accused of treason, was interned in a detention camp near Pisa, where he composed The Pisan Cantos, and then transferred to a criminal asylum in the United States where he remained for 12 years.
