Description

Important monograph dedicated to French Decorative Arts: the two volumes, with an introduction by Emile Molinier, present divided into sections the masterpieces exhibited during the Exposition Rétrospective de l'Art Décoratif Français which was part of the events of the Exposition Universelle of 1900 in Paris. Each section (Les ivoires, Le bronze et la dinanderie, La tapisserie, La céramique, Orfévrerie religieuse, Les émaux peints, Orfévrerie civil, Bois et mobilier du XII au XVI siècle, Mobilier des XVII et XVIII siècles, La peinture et la sculpture) it is introduced by a brief introduction by Gaston Migeon and presents the individual works photographed and glued onto a strong paper sheet inserted between two sheets, the first of which offers the description of the object. At the Colophon: Il a été tiré de cet ouvrage Deux cents exemplaires numérotés à la presse de 1 à 200. Exémplaire n. 088. Our specimen is further enhanced by an illustrious provenance: as evidenced by the beautiful Ex Libris of Prince Constantin Radziwill and the noble coat of arms on the plates, it comes in fact from the library of the Chateau d'Ermenonville
