Prestigious barrel-dyed and hand-finished calfskin binding, with six ribs on the back and gold inscriptions, in excellent condition (only a very fine peeling at the bottom corners of the plates). At the front plate, bas-relief in cast silver covered. Exlibris to the rear counterplate. Well preserved cards. The volume is enclosed in a canvas casket with a gold title on the front plate: we report an ugly dark spot (humidity) on the front plate of the casket that does not compromise the internal counterplate

Description

Prestigious edition of Boccaccio's masterpiece in limited edition (975 copies numbered in Arabic numerals and 75 in Roman numerals: our copy bears the number 321/975) with 12 color lithoserigraphy plates from original illustrations by Alvio Marchionni; also his is the bas-relief sculpture entitled Carpe Diem which embellishes the binding, made in fusion and covered in 1000 thousandths silver. The print was performed in the Valdonega printing house in Arbizzano on BFK Rives fine 100% cotton paper specially produced by the Cartiera d'Arches
